At Autism & Neurodiversity North Scotland, we are committed to continuously improving the services we provide to better support our community. After an extensive review and careful consideration of feedback from both the individuals and families we support, as well as our dedicated staff, we are thrilled to announce a significant restructuring of our Outreach Services. This new framework, designed to enhance both service delivery and work-life balance for our staff, will be implemented in October 2024.
Â
What’s New?
Our revamped Outreach Service will now focus on providing support directly in homes, workplaces, or educational settings within a 15-mile radius of our Carnie Drive base in Aberdeen or our sensory bus hubs in Fraserburgh and Peterhead. This approach ensures that our services remain accessible and convenient for those who need them most.
Â
In addition to the geographic adjustments, each outreach session will now last a minimum of two hours, inclusive of all related administrative and travel time. This change not only aligns with Care Inspectorate requirements but also allows for more efficient and personalised support planning.
Â
New Role: Neurodiversity Support Worker (NDSW)
As part of our restructuring, we are excited to introduce the role of Neurodiversity Support Worker (NDSW). This role is central to our new service model and comes with several benefits designed to support a healthier work-life balance for our team members.
Â
Why Join Us as an NDSW?
·     Flexible Working Pattern: Enjoy a better work-life balance with our new scheduling model, which includes three 12-hour shifts over seven days on a rolling rota basis. This flexibility allows for longer periods of rest and personal time.
·     Supportive Team Environment: Work within a passionate team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and mutual support.
·     Consistent and Predictable Shifts: Say goodbye to the unpredictability of previous shift patterns. Our new model offers greater stability, making it easier for you to plan your life outside of work.
·     Focus on Quality Support: With the new structure, you will have the time and resources to provide high-quality, individualised support that truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
